This is a very recent thing.

A security camera (used for watching hedgehogs) has been fine.
However recently the network has been unable to stream video in the early
hours.

Works fine before midnight.

Works fine during the day.

It has issues roughly between 03.00 and 06.00 but I have no way of knowing
exactly when it starts then clears because sleeping most of the time.

I was wondering if this could be explaind by condensation on the plastic
roof over the covered area where the camera is?

Any other suggestions welcome.

Cheers

Temperature maybe? Condensation does seem very likely though.

Does it switch between colour/black and white/infrared depending on
light levels?

Yes, it does.
As it is mains powered it has its own IR light source and when the string
of patio lights goes off it switches from colour to B&W.

But the unreliability doesn't coincide with the lights turning on/off?
Presume it could be taking a dislike to the cold at those times?

Last evening with the temperature at 17C and the lights on for some time,
it showed the same failure, but eventually cleared.

I think I will have to investigate the strength of the WiFi signal.

A lot of contention for that AP.

I now need to reorganise the WiFi without losing camera footage to date.
Changing the WiFi on the Tapo C320WS apparently requires a reset to
factory settings.

Alternatively I could just rename an AP with a better signal strength (if
I can remember how)

Cheers
