One of my mailboxes is being inundated with Mail Delivery Failed
messages.(over 200 overnight).
I've made a filter in Thunderbird to delete them on delivery but is
there a way to stop them before delivery? My ISP (A&A) sets a limit for
messages delivered to my domain and that limit is fast approaching.
Any help would be appreciated.

Are they in response to email you have sent or is somebody using your
email address for spam?

This joke was so funny when I heard it for the first time I fell of my

Sorry for the delay in replying.
My address is not being used to send spam as far as I can determine. The
messages are definitely not in response to anything I have sent.

May be worth looking at the raw text of one of them. I go through phases
where somebody uses one of my domains for spam, I've never understood why
but presumably there's a mechanism to get response to where they want them?

Usually a disguised link to a website sane people wouldn't visit.

You know: Kitten videos here or
something of the sort.

I think A&A only limit outgoing EMail, not incoming, but if in doubt
talk to support. They may also be able to filter the bounce messages so
they don't get to your inbox.

Do you have SPF and/or DKIM enabled on your EMail account? If not it
might be a good idea to enable them with a policy to just discard any
EMail appearing to be from you that comes from the wrong server. That
should ensure that you don't get bounce messages from any spammers who
might be using your address (unless they're also using A&A, of course,
in which case they'll be kicked off pretty quickly!)
