Which VPN to use on my home router?

My Asus RT-AX88U PRO give me the option of configuring a server for 4
types of VPN.

PPTP

OpenVPN

IPSec VPN

WireGuard VPN

I imagine that the use would be from an Android mobile phone or a Windows
10/11 PC.

In the past I have set up a VPN on a Raspberry Pi to allow a user from
abroad to trombone through our router to appear to be in the UK.

I might wish to extend this to allow me to connect to the local LAN and
access the file server.

Any recommendations?

I haven't started to dig in yet so I don't know if additional 3rd party
software would be required at either end.

I recall that both Android and Windows networking understood the concept
of a VPN as a connection method.

Cheers

I've used both OpenVPN and Wireguard.

In terms of set up and speed, Wireguard wins hands down.

The wireguard app is also available in the PlayStore too.
